At KCOM, we get excited about providing technology solutions that really help our customers achieve what they need.
When you partner with us, you can rest assured that you’re working with a team that cares about your success as much as you do, and was one of the first to start working towards HSCN Stage 2 compliance.
Not just as a consumer network service provider but as a trusted advisor, who will help you achieve your technology aims by working with you in partnership. And will go the extra mile to help you get there.
HSCN as part of a better network
HSCN: The bigger picture
For NHS and private sector healthcare providers, HSCN brings increased efficiency, remote access, security and collaboration and - crucially - an open marketplace. You’re now free to choose a provider that understands your challenges and can work with you to support better patient care and customer service.
But even after your move to the N3 replacement, HSCN, your existing network might not have the speed, security and flexibility to help you achieve your goals.
The answer? Watch our short video to find out >>
Is your wide area network HSCN-ready?
Take our WAN healthcheck to find out if your wide area network is the best it can be or whether you’re missing out on some important features that could make life - and your HSCN transition - much easier.
Simply answer a few short questions about your current WAN and our tool will send you a health rating and a full report, straight to your inbox. We’ll highlight your WAN’s strengths and weaknesses, and identify areas where your current provider could help you achieve some quick wins to make a difference right now.
From the moment you start using HSCN, you'll also need to have in place a raft of HSCN overlay services that are either run on your HSCN connection or operate in parallel to it. Think flexible hosted voice services, video conferencing, private/public WiFi access points and more.
HSCN can help you create a robust IT infrastructure that combines connectivity, cloud and hosted voice to help you keep on delivering the very best health outcomes for the people you serve. Here's how.
Enhancing your connectivity network now could bring immediate benefits, from better productivity and efficiency to the speed of data sharing - as well as cost savings to make stretched budgets go further.
Work better together
A more resilient and diverse network will speed up secure data transfer, internally and externally, supporting joined-up working and collaboration, and enabling faster decision-making for better health outcomes.
Plan ahead with confidence
Taking time to future-proof your network will make sure it’s not only built to support HSCN, but can expand and evolve to support your organisational development. And accommodate your ongoing technology roadmap.
We've helped others
Building a HSCN-ready network
In 2015, a South West based NHS organisation that was struggling with a limited network came to KCOM for a network solution that would improve performance and create cost savings, as well as pave the way for their HSCN migration.
The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) chose KCOM to deliver a scalable, resilient Managed WAN that would improve performance, underpin future growth and allow its network of users to stay connected to essential resources.
KCOM has been selected as the preferred bidder for the delivery of HSCN connectivity in areas of London following completion of the Once for London Aggregated Procurement, a contract potentially worth £13m.
Why upgrading your connectivity now will pay off in the future
As well as your HSCN service, it's vital to consider the underlying connectivity across which your service will run. If you're considering running HSCN across DSL broadband, here's why you might want to reconsider.
